IRBOnline to launch 9/18/2023

OPRS is pleased to announce the upcoming launch of IRBOnline, an electronic IRB submission system. IRBOnline will be available for new study submissions on Monday, September 18, 2023. To prepare for the transition, OPRS will be pausing acceptance of new study submissions at 5:00pm on September 8, 2023. New study submissions will resume on September 18, 2023 with all new studies required to be submitted via the IRBOnline system. “New study submissions” includes New Study Applications, Facilitated Review Applications, and Non Human Subject Research Review requests. Please plan accordingly for any new study submissions to be submitted before 5:00pm on 9/8/2023, or wait until 9/18/2023 to submit via IRBOnline.
Amendments, continuing review applications, and report forms will continue to be accepted for existing studies via the standard email process.
More information and details will be provided including training materials, videos, and a transition schedule for existing studies. Updates and training materials will be posted on the OPRS website and will be sent out via the OPRS Listserv. If you are not currently subscribed to the listserv, email irb@illinois.edu and request to be added.
