Who should be listed as a member of the research team?
Question
Who should be listed as a member of the research team?
Answer
Any person "engaged in the conduct of human subject research" must be listed on the IRB application as a research team member. This includes any person responsible for the design, conduct, or reporting of research.
For example, include all persons who will be directly responsible for:
1. the project's design or implementation,
2. recruitment,
3. obtaining informed consent, or
4. involved in data collection, data analysis, or follow-up.
Only research team members affiliated with UIUC are listed on the IRB application as research team members. External research team members or partners should utilize an external IRB or the single IRB review process.
