The Office for the Protection of Research Subjects (OPRS) reminds all investigators that the Conflict of Interest (COI) requirement, including disclosure of Significant Financial Interests (SFIs) and management of Financial Conflicts of Interest (FCOIs), will be fully enforced starting March 23rd. When?

  • Monday, March 9, 10:00 AM 
  • Tuesday, March 10, 2:00 PM 
  • Wednesday, March 11, 1:00 PM (special session focused on students who need to disclose)

What will you learn? 

Understand the University Policy on Financial Conflict of Interest in Research. Learn about Significant Financial Interest disclosure requirements and how to submit a Sponsor Specific Questionnaire Disclosure. Identify when a SFI could be a Financial Conflict of Interest (FCOI) and how to manage the conflict. Learn about the new process for reviewing SFI for Institutional Review Board (IRB) reviewed studies.

Who should attend? 

Any individual regardless of title or position that is an investigator or participates in federally sponsored research programs. Any individual participating on a study reviewed by the IRB. Any individual who supports sponsored research programs or studies reviewed by the IRB.
