As we continue to update the OPRS website with new information, guidance, and resources, we will provide weekly updates of any additions to the website.

In the past week, the following additions have been made:

Updated OPRS Website

I am pleased to announce that the OPRS website has been updated and is now available for use. This represents the next step in the OPRS project to modernize the university's IRB oversight and submission processes, in preparation for the implementation of an electronic IRB system in late 2023.

Upcoming OPRS Website Updates

Later this month, OPRS will launch a newly revised website.  We are currently targeting the week of April 17 for site launch.

OPRS New Forms

OPRS has launched the first phase of a project to modernize IRB oversight and submission processes, in preparation for the implementation of an electronic submission system in 2023.  The first step in this project is to revise the forms that investigators submit to OPRS for review.

Exempt Form Update

Effective November 1, 2022, all human subject research applications must be submitted on the “Protocol Form”.  Any projects submitted on the old “Exempt Form” will no longer be accepted.  OPRS will continue to make Exempt determinations for all eligible protocols.

Core IRB Training Requirements

Effective October 1, 2022, OPRS will only accept the Core IRB Training course as our minimum requirement. Protocols received after October 1, 2022 that lack Core IRB Training completion dates for all investigators will not be approved until the required training has been completed.
